Willacy County Sheriff's Office would like to introduce Juan Cano, managing partner of Justice Alert Technology, for introducing us to the Victim Initiated Notification (VIN) app. This app is being provided to Willacy County residents who are victims of family violence, as an added tool in their protection. This app, at a touch of a button, will now notify WCSO of any need for law enforcement wherever the user is at. This app also provides up to a 30 second video, and real time GPS tracking to aide law enforcement in locating the user. The VIN app will be there to provide an additional element of safety for the good people of Willacy County.

This past week, we were blessed to have six inmates request baptism by water immersion at the county jail, on April 16,2021. Tears were shed and their faces were overwhelmed with joy after being baptized. The Holy Spirit showed up powerful in many ways as the presence of God was with us.

UPDATE: Currently the Willacy County Sheriff's Office assisted Border Patrol and DPS, detaining a large number of people crossing our borders illegally. From a high speed chase on the highway that exceeded speeds of over 100 miles per hour, to a bail out of several, to giving chase on foot and in the dark - our deputies proved you can't run from the long arm of the law. Thank you to all involved from the leadership of the Sheriff, Telecommunications, DPS, Border Patrol and the DA's office. Our agencies continue to work well together. All for the good people of Willacy County.
